Print This Page 200,000 Chickens Evicted by Council of State
THE NETHERLANDS - One of the largest battery chicken factories in the Netherlands, home to some 200,000 birds, must close down, according to a ruling made by the Council of State.The plant lost its environmental permit earlier this year because of the smell, reports DutchNews.nl.
Inspectors will pay a visit on Monday and if the chickens are still there the owner will be fined €35,000 a day.
