Print This Page Poultry Plant Fined over Poor Safety
NORTH CAROLINA - A poultry plant has been fined for a series of major safety violations.North Carolina state regulators have cited a chicken processing company for 49 serious safety code violations, many involving hazardous chemicals, according to Charlotte Observer.
It reports a $178,000 fine levied against House of Raeford Farms plant in Teachey, following a leak of chlorine gas in 2003 and one of ammonia the following year.
