Print This Page Viet Nam Reports Two New AI Outbreaks
VIET NAM - The veterinary authorities have reported two further outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The Vietnameses authorities sent the follow-up report dated 27 November covering two further outbreaks of HPAI of the H5N1 sub-type in Nghe An province in the north of the country.
The first case (in September) involved an unvaccinated village duck flock of 960 birds. The second occurred in October in a flock on 1423 ducks, which was traced back to the introduction of unvaccinated young ducklings into an existing flock.
