Print This Page India Reports Bird Flu Outbreak to OIE
INDIA - The veterinary authorities have reported one outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
India's veterinary authorities sent the report to OIE on 28 November to OIE. It included details of one outbreak of HPAI caused by the H5N1 virus sub-type that had started 7 days previously.
The outbreak was in a backyard flock of around 390 birds in Hajo, Rajabazar, Kamrup in Assam state. The source of the outbreak is unknown.
