Print This Page 19 More Cases of Low-Path Bird Flu in Germany
GERMANY - The veterinary authorities have reported a further 19 cases of low-pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The latest follow-up report, dated 20 December, describes a further 19 cases of LPAI, all in the same area as before – Cloppenburg in Lower Saxony.
In total, 242,568 birds (type unspecified) were involved. Of these, 330 showed signs of disease, 35 died and 242,328 birds were destroyed.
The H5N3 viral sub-type has been confirmed.
