Harper Adams Recognises Poultry Industry Leaders

UK - At the recent graduation ceremony, Harper Adams University College awarded an honorary degree to a former agriculture minister of Northern Ireland.

Harper Adams University College is the home of the National Institute of Poultry Husbandry in Shropshire.

At the graduation ceremony yesterday, Bríd Rodgers, the Minister of Agriculture in Northern Ireland at the time of the Foot and Mouth disease crisis and a current member of Bord Bia (Irish Food Board) was awarded the Honorary degree of Doctor of Literature, in recognition of her work politically with organisations closely associated with farming, food and the local economy in Ireland.

Fellowships of Harper Adams University College were also awarded to Ian Panton, chairman of Aviagen, and to leading egg industry producer, Aled Griffiths.
