Cherkizovo Opens New Poultry Breeding Facility

RUSSIA - Cherkizovo Group has announced the completion of its new parent stock breeding facility at Vertunovka.

Cherkizovo Group has announced the opening of the Naryshkinskiy and Mitkireyskiy breeding facilities at the Vertunovka site, part of the Vasilievskaya poultry factory in the Penza region.

The opening of these breeding facilities embodies the last stage of large-scale construction project and now Cherkizovo Group's Vertunovka site is among Europe's largest parent stock facilities. In its new form, Vertunovka consists of 44 bird houses, which are separated into four zones, each of which has been adapted in line with the highest Western standards of poultry production, incorporating the use of state-of-the-art technology.

The total production capacity now reaches approximately 60 million hatching eggs per year.

Sergey Mikhailov, CEO of Cherkizovo Group, commented: "With the completion of the Vertunovka site, we have achieved the most time and cost-intensive element of the poultry industry's investment cycle. The construction of the facility is highly important for the Group, since its operational capacity is almost unrivalled, not only in Russia, but also in Europe.
