H5N1 Bird Flu Confirmed in Bhutan

BHUTAN - Of a flock of 2,010 birds in a backyard poultry flock, 87 birds are confirmed to have died as the result of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in Thimphu.
The cases occurred on a backyard poultry farm adjacent to the national highway.
The remaining 1,241 birds have been destroyed and any remaining susceptible poultry birds in the affected area will be culled.
