More HPAI in Ha Nam and Hai Duong
13 February 2012VIET NAM - The Vietnamese veterinary authorities have reported two new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in Ha Nam and Hai Duong.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 61 on Friday, 10 February.
A total of two outbreaks were reported. Out of 6037 susceptible birds, 4887 cases were identified. A thousand bird deaths were recorded, and a total of 1637 birds were destroyed.
The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive.
