LPAI Found in Chicken, Duck Samples

CHINA - The Chinese veterinary authorities have reported low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) at bird markets located in Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangsu.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 2 on 10 April. The H7N9 virus was found in duck and chicken samples.

A total of 14 birds were found affected by the H7N9 virus. No birds were destroyed and/or slaughtered.

The source of the outbreaks remains inconclusive.

Several control measures have been put in place in order to contain the situation.
