Tajik, Russian Breeders Extend Co-Operation

TAJIKISTAN - Poultry company, Sverdlovskiy in Russia's Sverdloskaya region has announced its intention to expand co-operation with its Tajik counterparts.

AsiaPlus reports the comment by Aleksey Podolyako, deputy head of Sverdlovskiy, at a two-day scientific and practical conference that was held at the Ministry of Agriculture on 26-27 December.

He said that specialists from the Sverdlovskaya region have studied Tajikistan's consumer market and have come to a conclusion that it is promising for the poultry breeding company. Sverdlovskiy has already established cooperation with two poultry farms in Tajikistan.

Mr Podolyako noted, "We are ready to supply our products to Tajikistan and promote training of personnel for Tajik poultry breeding sector. We also intend to provide Tajik poultry farms with up-to-date equipment and implement joint development projects."

The conference discussed issues related to development of poultry in the country. It brought together specialists and poultry plant heads from Tajikistan, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Iran to discuss the present state of poultry and ways to ensure development of the important agricultural sector.

Conference participants visited poultry farms at Murghi Hilol and Murghi Marjon in the Fayzobod district and Navrouz in the Vahdat district.
