Russia Halts All Poultry Imports from German Region

GLOBAL - Russia has banned imports of poultry meat from the German region of North-Rhine Westphalia due to an outbreak of low-pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI).

Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) has imposed ban on poultry product imports to Russia from Federal Land of North Rhine-Westphalia following the detection of avian influenza H7N7 subtype detection there, according to Meat Russia.

According to an RIA Novosti report, Rosselkhoznadzor has imposed temporary restrictions on all types poultry product supply from this region, i.e. live poultry, hatching eggs, feather, poultry meat, feed and feed additives for poultry, as well as equipment used for poultry breeding, slaughtering and dressing.
