The second edition is set to be the international business platform for the South Asian Poultry, Aqua and Dairy markets. With 90 exhibitors from 17 countries confirmed and a total net show surface of 1,900 square metres, VIV India 2010 equals the size of the previous edition. This is a remarkable result considering the severe competition for trade shows in animal husbandry in India. The move to the south of India will result in more visitors. Bangalore is clearly considered to be a key belt for the Indian Poultry industries and the organisation expects to welcome 5,000 trade visitors over three days.

Moving to Bangalore

The first edition of VIV India was organized in Delhi. Most VIV trade shows are organised in capital cities to ensure a decent flow of international visitors.

Project Manager, Ruwan Berculo, comments: "The event was well-rated. However, we felt there was potential to do much better, particularly on the visitor side."

Following a series of evaluations, the organisation selected Bangalore as the best hub for VIV India.

Organising partner and specialist, K.V. Rajeevan of Inter Ads, explained: "The city is situated right in the heart of India’s major poultry belts and has good flight connections with surrounding countries and Europe."

International quality from Feed to Meat

Global market leaders from Feed to Meat present their solutions. Mr Berculo added: "When it comes to bringing efficiency forward in India over the coming decade, international suppliers have an important role to play." What may be limited in size today will grow to become serious business tomorrow.

Stork Poultry Processing, for example, puts a lot of effort into presenting their technology and philosophy at VIV India 2010: Grow with Stork Poultry Processing. From small broiler processing plants to large plants with semi or fully automatic processes, the company commits itself to building the future with Indian relations.

Prinzen, a leader in egg handling processes, shows its range of hatchery equipment. The company offers simple tray-to-tray transfer machines to fully automatic systems, enabling to grade, disinfect and pack eggs that fit into almost every type of setter tray.

Indian feed business at full strength

Particularly in the field of 'Feed, Ingredients and Additives', many Indian suppliers are joining VIV India 2010. Companies like DSM, Natural Remedies, Alltech, Biomin, Novus and Evonik invite their relations in South Asia to taste their new products. Another Indian key exhibitor is the Venkateshwara Hatchery Group, which is joining VIV India for the first time.

Providing knowledge and sharing visions

The VIV India 2010 Opening Conference focuses on food security. Together with industry partners, the organisation presents a mix of Indian and international knowledge and vision. The aim is to discuss ways to secure enough food for the rapidly growing Indian population.

On 2 February, Novus is organising a full-day conference. All subjects presented elaborate on the main theme 'Food, Economics, Legislation and Industry in 2010 and 2020'. The future of poultry in India, the role of supermarkets and the 2020 outlook for grain in India and the world are examples of the seven presentations to be given throughout the day.
