Mr Hamilton, who has been with the Aviagen Group for 15 years, has decided to pursue some different challenges and hands over the leadership to Clay Burrows at the end of this year.

Clay Burrows joins Aviagen Turkeys Ltd. as the new Managing Director in December. He brings with him many years of experience from within the poultry industry. Most recently, he served as the Agricultural Director at Cranberry Foods, and prior to this at Grampian Food Group.

Commenting on his decision to leave the company, Ian said: “It is with conflicting emotions that I have decided to leave this great company. As my 50th birthday approaches I have been keen to pursue some different challenges. In the new Managing Director I have every confidence the business will continue to grow and prosper. I would like to thank all the people I have worked with over this long time and wish them every success. We have great shareholders, great people, great products and most importantly great customers.”

On his new position, Clay commented: “I am delighted to be joining Aviagen Turkeys as Managing Director. I have been a long time admirer of Aviagen as the world’s leading poultry breeding organisation. I am extremely excited about the future. With the support of our shareholders and world class colleagues, I will be able to lead Aviagen Turkeys Ltd. to continue to grow, in what is a very challenging marketplace.”
