Cost of Production Index High Despite October Drop

BRAZIL - After September saw the year's highest production cost index figure (184.26) production costs fell in October by 5.77 per cent to 173.74 points.

Calculated by Embrapa Swine and Poultry, of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, the figures show that broiler production costs have accumulated a high of 37.66 per cent in 2012 despite last month's decline.

Already the ICPSuíno / Embrapa remained practically stable in October, up 0.02 per cent, reaching 183.60 points (highest value of 2012). For the year, ICPSuíno is up 31.12 per cent, mainly influenced by the value of nutrition inputs.
