According to a hand out issued by the Commissioner Office on Thursday, in pursuance of the commissioner’s orders Additional Commissioner Karachi-II convened a meeting of the representatives of the Sindh Poultry Wholesalers and Retailers Association to devise some mechanism for ensuring stable chicken prices in the city.

According to The News, it was decided that the association would send their proposed rate list of edible items related to the poultry business to the office of additional commissioner-II on daily basis. The daily rate list of poultry items would be publicized only after the approval by the additional commissioner-II office, while the control room of Commissioner Karachi’s office would be used for releasing the chicken rate list on daily basis to the print and electronic media.

The additional commissioner-II said that a crackdown would be launched against the hoarders and retailers involved in undue hike in the prices of essential edible items.
