Brazilian Health Standards for Chicken Imports Acceptable
MEXICO - Brazil’s processing health standards have been accepted by Mexico for the first time. Brazil is now permitted to export meat and eggs to the country.

By: The Mexican authorities sent the approval of the Brazilian hygiene arrangements to the Department of Animal Health at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Supply this week.
"With this documentation acknowledging the Brazilian health guarantees, it will allow us to start exporting.
“It is expected that in the coming days, the Secretariat of Agricultural Protection will send out the Certificate of International Health Management Information System of the Federal Inspection System [SIGSIF]," said Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Antonio Andrade.
Once the certificate, which must be completed by the exporting companies, has been sent out, they will be allowed to export products.
In the first half of the year Brazil exported 1.8 million tonnes of chicken worth $3.8 billion – an increase of 7.9 per cent on the same period last year.
