Cargill Kitchen Solutions will expand its complex on Bonanza road by nearly 22,500 square feet with additional room for a cooler and freezer storage.

“Lake Odessa has been a wonderful community partner to us, and we are very pleased to invest additional resources in this area,” said Troy Peper, Lake Odessa Plant Manager for Cargill Kitchen Solutions. “As we made final expansion decisions, we appreciated the support of the Lake Odessa Economic Alliance and The Right Place. We also appreciated the support of local and state officials. These public-private partnerships demonstrate what can be done when we all work together.”

Groundbreaking will take place on 29 October and the expansion is expected to be completed with the plant fully operational by mid-summer 2014. Cargill Kitchen Solutions is a leading marketer of further-processed egg products in North America, selling primarily to the foodservice sector. The Lake Odessa facility, which employs more than 148 employee stakeholders, began operations in 1994 and has undergone several expansions over the years.

In addition to the facility in Lake Odessa, Cargill Kitchen Solutions has plants in Mason City, Iowa; Monticello and Big Lake, Minnesota; and Etobicoke, Ontario. Cargill Kitchen Solutions is headquartered in Monticello.
