Ovostar Union N.V., a vertically integrated holding company, one of the leading producers of eggs and egg products in Ukraine, announces its operational results for the nine months of 2013.

Egg segment

As at 30 September 2013, the total flock of the Company increased by 22 per cent year-on-year to 4.41 million hens from 3.62 million hens on 30 September 2012. Laying hens flock increased by 41 per cent year-on-year to 3.74 million hens (9M 2012: 2.65 million hens).

Over the reporting period, egg production increased by 32 per cent year-on-year to 648 million eggs. For the same period of 2102, output was 490 million eggs.

The volume of eggs sold increased by 26 per cent to 410 million from 326 million in the same period previous year.

Over the nine months of 2013, egg selling price increased by three per cent to UAH0.651 each, compared to UAH0.633 in the nine months of 2012.

Egg products segment

Over the nine months of 2013, the Company processed 199 million eggs, up from 154 million eggs in the same period last year. As a result, sales volumes of dry and liquid egg products increased by 55 per cent year-on-year to 1,132 tons and by 42 per cent year-on-year to 4,992 tons (9?2012: 733 and 3,506 tons, respectively).

Average selling price of dry egg products increased by six per cent year-on-year, reaching UAH44.74 per kg, while average selling price of liquid egg products stayed almost the same at UAH15.15 per kg. For the first nine months of 2012, averages were UAH42.24 per for dried egg products and UAH15.09 per kg for liquid egg products.

The Company’s 2012-2013 investment programme is being implemented in accordance with schedule and is expected to be completed in 2014.
