Crop Issues, Milk Quotas on EU Ag Committee Agenda
EU - On the agenda for the upcoming Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting are weather-related crop difficulties in Cyprus and Latvia as well as legal aspects to the end of milk quotas.The next Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting will take place in Luxembourg on 14 April 2014.
The Commission will be represented by Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dacian Ciolos.
The morning and afternoon sessions will be entirely dedicated to agricultural issues, focusing on the Fruit & Vegetables report.
Also on the agenda are:
- The Cypriot delegation will brief participants on the drought faced by Cyprus.
- At the request of the Austrian delegation, the Council Legal Service will present some legal aspects related to the implementation of the EU milk quota system for 2014/2015 in relation to the end of milk quotas.
- The Romanian delegation will brief participants on the FAO Regional Conference Week held in Bucharest from 29 March to 4 April.
- The Latvian delegation will present a request for exceptional measures further to difficulties in the sector of winter crops in Latvia.
