Honouring the Best in the UK's Free-range Egg Business
UK - The British Free Range Egg Producers Association (BFREPA) is looking for retailers, farmers and food businesses that have made a real difference to the industry in the past year.Accolades will also be given to the winners of the breakthrough of the year and best marketing initiative categories in the Free Range Egg Awards 2014, and someone within the industry will be honoured for a lifetime of achievement.
BFREPA vice chairman and producer Myles Thomas, who will be on the judging panel, said: “The Free Range Egg Awards, sponsored by Elanco, is an opportunity to celebrate the efforts of those who are supporting, growing and promoting the free range egg market.
“There have been some prestigious winners over the past few years so we want to hear about anyone who deserves to be recognised. It could be a nomination for an individual free range egg producer who is developing their own brand or someone who is helping communicate all that is great about the industry. National restaurant chains that support producers could be considered or perhaps a company developing a new product with free range eggs as an ingredient.
“Last year, Waitrose won the retailer award for its long-term support and development of the British Blacktail brand but it’s not about size – it’s about passion for free range eggs – so individuals from within the industry, consumers, restaurant owners, bakers and greengrocers can all nominate or be considered for an award.”
Nominations to any of the six categories must be submitted by Friday 14 August. The winners will be announced at BFREPA’s Annual Conference Ceremony on 27 November in Solihull.
