Shanghai food and drug authorities suspended chicken and beef products supplied by a local food company to McDonald and KFC outlets after an investigation revealed the re-labelling of meat beyond its shelf-life.

Local media in Shanghai reported that Shanghai Husi Food Co., Ltd reprocessed meat products that had outlived their shelf life and supplied them to global fast-food chains including McDonald, KFC and Pizza Hut.
