AB Vista Launches Phytase Survey at EuroTier

UK - AB Vista will be conducting a survey among visitors to this year’s EuroTier to discover the extent to which livestock producers, feed compounders and integrators are adopting the concept of phytase superdosing.

Superdosing takes phytase use beyond simple nutrient release, through application of an optimised phytase at three to four times the standard dose to destroy the majority of the phytate anti-nutrient found in feed.

The use of superdosing has been rapidly adopted in the USA, Brazil and Thailand; the survey aims to find out if the same trend is occurring in Europe since the EU registration of Quantum Blue this year, and how the new approach is being applied and in which species.

Richard Cooper, AB Vista’s Managing Director, said: “There is a dramatic change taking place in the industry that has partly been driven by the concept of superdosing; producers are no longer using phytase simply to release nutrients, but using larger doses to destroy the majority of phytate and thus negate its anti-nutritional effects.

“We want to better understand how and why this technology is being used. Understanding the phytase dynamics across multiple regions and species means we are in a better position to fulfil our customers’ needs and to ensure we always bring relevant and applicable science to the industry.”

AB Vista has pioneered superdosing technology and will be showcasing its new generation phytase, Quantum Blue, at EuroTier (Hall 14, Stand J06).

The company is hoping that feed integrators, compounders, veterinarians and producers will take part in the electronic survey which will be available online as well as at the AB Vista stand. All completed surveys will be entered into a prize draw and have the chance to win an iPad.
