Olivier Demeure Joins Groupe Grimaud as Scientific Director

FRANCE - Groupe Grimaud has appointed Olivier Demeure as the Groupe’s Scientific Director with effect from 1 January 2015.

Olivier Demeure is 36 years old and holds a doctorate from the ENSAR (National Higher Agronomic School of Rennes). He has also gained an international experience while working at a laboratory at Michigan State University in the USA. He has worked for nine years for the French Agronomical Research Institute, INRA, conducting research on “complex trait genetics” and leading the INRA’s avian genetics network.

Mr Demeure will work transversally with the R&D directors of the Groupe’s specialised divisions: broiler, laying hens, waterfowls, guinea fowl, swine, rabbit and shrimp.

Within Groupe Grimaud, his job will be to ensure a transversal approach to R&D between the divisions and to anticipate technological breakdowns in order to consolidate and develop the place of the Group on these markets.

He will also be in charge of the developing networking and partnership opportunities with research institutions such as universities as well as public and private research centres, as well as attending and speaking at international conferences.
