New High-path Bird Flu Outbreak Reported in Chinese Poultry
CHINA - A new outbreak of H5N6 high-path avian flu has been reported at a farm in Hunan province.

By: The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No.5 dated 6 February to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
According to that report, there was a new outbreak of H5N6 highly pathogenic avian influenza at a farm in the Heshan district of Yiyang city in Hunan province.
Starting on 2 February, a total of around 3,400 birds showed symptoms; 2,600 died and the remaining 4,876 were destroyed.
The type of bird was not identified in the report.
