Registration Open for UK Branch Meeting of WPSA

UK - Registration is open for the annual meeting of the UK branch on the World's Poultry Science Association (WPSA). This year's meeting will be held in Chester on 14 and 15 April.

The WPSA spring meeting will be in Chester for 2015 and run from the 14th to the 15th April, located at the University of Chester. As in previous years, the meeting will held in conjunction with BSAS, AVTRW, CFER and EBLEX.

Although paper submission is now closed, registration is now open via the BSAS web site, booking.bsas.org.uk/conference2015wpsa_bookingform.php.

The Spring Meeting will begin on Tuesday 14 April with original communications on nutrition, followed by an invited session with talks on metabolic diseases of poultry, covering the hot topics of Woody Breast and Ascites. These talks will be given by Professor Malcolm Mitchell (SRUC) and Daniel Parker (Slate Hall Veterinary Services). Tuesday afternoon will then continue with original communications on genetics, welfare and health. Wednesday morning completes the original communications, on the topic of nutrition.

This year’s joint BSAS/WPSA session includes two perspectives on Campylobacter from Professor Ian Connerton of the University of Nottingham and Mary Howell, a consultant in Microbiological Food Safety, and previously of the Food Standards Agency.

This year’s Gordon Memorial Lecture will be given by Professor Rob Gous from the University of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.

The BSAS Student Program, on Monday 13 April, is also available to WPSA student delegates and registration is also available as above. The registration fee includes dinner on Monday and social activities.
