Five New Outbreaks of Newcastle Disease in Israel
ISRAEL - There have been five new outbreaks of Newcastle disease in commercial poultry flocks in the northern half of the country since 8 March.The veterinary authority sent Follow-up Report No.16 dated 19 March to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), describing five outbreaks of Newcastle disease starting between 8 and 16 March.
Four of the premises were farms and there was one backyard layer flock. They were located in Hadarom, Hazafon, Hamerkaz and Yerushalayim. Of the commercial farms, two had broiler flocks, one had layers and the other had growing turkeys.
In total, 202,213 birds were involved, of which 5,707 died and 196,506 have been destroyed.
