In the next 40 years, the world’s population will very likely continue to increase reaching nine billion people, is our feed and food production capacity available to face such a challenge?

The past 50 years has been characterised by a constant increase in food production. Matching the extremely rapid increasing request for food requires changes in the way food is produced and processed. Increase production and maximise productivity will be for sure of paramount importance but due to the finite resources, this is no longer the goal for the feed and food industry. Production efficiency and food safety are nowadays the upcoming challenges of the feed and food industry in order to feed the growing population in a safe and sustainable way.

Founded in 1982 in Reggio Emilia (Italy), Vetagro S.p.A. is specialised in the production of nutrients and natural additives for animal nutrition through a constantly updated microencapsulation technology tailored to match digestive capacity and feed transit time of each target species.

Efforts allowed the development of AviPlus®, the extremely innovative product to increase growth and feed efficiency, which in 2011 was officially approved by the European Commission.

AviPlus (AviPlus-S for swine and AviPlus-P for poultry) is a fully natural additive based on organic acids and vegetal molecules, which significantly improves the digestive efficiency of animals and remarkably achieves their growth and the reduction of environmental impact.

Feed efficiency and food safety are key to competitive food production for the year to come; Vetagro is partner of future feed and food leading industry.
