Chinese Swan Farm Hit by Avian Flu

CHINA - A farm holding black swans and peacocks has suffered an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza.

The H5N6 outbreak infected 165 birds on the farm in Hunan province. 91 of them died, and over one thousand birds were destroyed as a result of the outbreak.

Movement controls, screening and disinfection have been used to control the outbreak.
