RCB spokesman Qaisar Mehmood told Dawn that the food branch of RCB visited catering services and kitchens of marriage halls and slaughterhouses at Misrial Road, Range Road and adjoining areas, and found their condition unhygienic.

He said that slaughterhouse was sealed as the chickens were slaughtered in unhygienic conditions and they did not have the RCB licence. He said that the health certificates of the workers were mandatory and the owner of the slaughterhouse did not get the medical certificate of his workers.

He said that the samples of the food had been taken from the food outlets and dispatched to Lahore for laboratory tests. He said that the cases would be filed after receiving the test results.
