Reporting in The Korea Herald shows that the United States (28.1%), Hong Kong (23.6%) and Japan (22.7%) are the top three destinations for South Korea’s chicken exports.

A report from the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) found that processed chicken exports earned $21 million in 2020, a 59.5% increase from 2019. KITA said that the surge in exports came from samgyetang, a packaged traditional soup. Sales of chicken breasts also surged due to the increase in home cooking during the COVID-19 lockdown.
