Avian influenza outbreaks continue in UK
Protection zones have been put around both sites

By: This past weekend, UK Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) officials announced two new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1.
On Friday, H5N1 was confirmed on a premises near Ledbury, North Herefordshire, Herefordshire. On Saturday, a second outbreak of H5N1 was confirmed in birds at a premise near Elmswell, Mid Suffolk, Suffolk.
A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone has been put in place around both premises. All birds on the infected premises will be humanely culled.
