A Pennsylvania duck farm reported an outbreak of avian influenza last week, according to the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).

The outbreak took place on a duck meat farm in Berks county. It affected 30,100 ducks.

Very few cases were reported in the previous two weeks, and mostly in small, backyard flocks, leading many to believe that the worst of 2022 avian influenza outbreaks was over.
