Brazilian food processor BRF said on Thursday its plant in Abu Dhabi received the go-ahead to resume chicken exports to Saudi Arabia following a three-year suspension, reported Reuters.

Two BRF poultry plants in Brazil were suspended from exporting to Saudi Arabia in February of 2020. At that time, the Saudis blamed alleged irregularities in feed production disclosed by a Brazilian criminal probe conducted between 2014 and 2018 as the reason for imposing the restrictions. In the filing at that time, BRF said that five other plants were still permitted to export poultry to Saudi Arabia and that it had started to redirect production to other industrial sites.

Saudi Arabia represents a significant market for BRF.
