Wageningen University and Research reported three new outbreaks of avian influenza this past week. The most recent, an outbreak that involves 38,000 broiler breeder birds in Oldekerk, is still under investigation.

The other two outbreaks have both been confirmed as H5N1 cases. The first impacted 60,000 ducks on a farm in Schuinesloot. The second, which was reported on September 16, impacted 87,000 broilers on a commercial farm in Tjerkgaast.
