According to the UK's Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and Animal and Plant Health Agency, new cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) surface nearly every day in the UK.

H5N1 was confirmed on 4 October 2022 in poultry on a second premise near Hadleigh, Babergh, Suffolk, and on premises near Faringdon, Vale of White Horse, Oxfordshire.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza was also suspected yesterday in poultry on premises near Wymondham, South Norfolk, Norfolk, and on premises near Attleborough, Breckland, Norfolk.

In both cases, a 3-km temporary control zone A and 10-km temporary control zone B were put in place around each premises. All poultry on the infected premises will be humanely culled.
