Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision, Rosselkhoznadzor introduced temporary restrictions on the supply of poultry products to the Russian Federation from the departments of Orne and Tarn and Garonne of France and the Cuxhaven region of Germany, according to a press release from the governing body

The restrictions were issued after the French Veterinary Service and the International Epizootic Bureau reported cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza in those regions.

According to the press release, the Veterinary Service of France previously sent information about the measures taken to eliminate the spread of the disease. It said information from the competent authority of Germany has not yet been received by the service.

The release did not mention the value or volume of imported poultry products from either country.
