Brazil agriculture ministry introduces rules to prevent avian influenza

Poultry events suspended for 90 days

Brazil's Agriculture Ministry on announced new measures last week to prevent avian influenza outbreaks in Brazil after cases were registered in neighbouring South American countries, according to Reuters.

The measures, valid for 90 days, include suspension of events, exhibitions, championships and trade fairs involving the exposition of poultry. Brazil remains free of avian influenza in its territory, but has had to investigate suspected cases.
