Canada reported just one case of avian influenza in May, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency

The only incident occurred in the province of Quebec in Les Maskoutains Regional County. The outbreak was reported on a commercial poultry farm. No other details were available on the website.

Outbreaks in May 2022 were much higher with more than 30 cases being reported across a number of provinces. The majority of the cases at that time were reported in Alberta and British Columbia.

By comparison, the US reported four outbreaks across four states, including Missouri, North Carolina, Minnesota and Indiana. Only 330 birds were impacted by the outbreaks.
