The UK’s largest egg supplier, Noble Foods, has opted to continue its partnership with children’s charity Magic Breakfast by supplying free-range eggs to schools across the UK, according to a company press release.

The family-owned company – responsible for brands such as the happy egg co. – is helping to raise vital funds and create volunteering opportunities throughout 2023 in support of Magic Breakfast’s crucial work to end hunger as a barrier to learning.

As part of its support, Noble Foods is trialling a supply of the happy egg co. eggs to the charity’s partner schools. It is the first time that eggs are included in the Magic Breakfast provision. Initially supplying 30 schools, Noble Foods has the ambition to roll this initiative out to more schools later this year.

“We unanimously agreed that a nutritious breakfast and the ability to learn were two causes of great importance to all of us," said Duncan Everett, CEO of Noble Foods.

“I’m very humbled and pleased to continue our partnership with Magic Breakfast, both from our corporate support and through our collaboration with the happy egg co. – truly a perfect match and a project everyone at Noble Foods is incredibly proud to stand behind," Everett continued.

Colleagues from Noble Foods, including CEO Duncan Everett, recently helped at the breakfast service at one of Magic Breakfast’s partner schools. In addition to cereals, toast and baked beans, the new offering of boiled ‘dippy eggs’ gives young people another nutritious option before the school day begins.

“We are so lucky to now be able to offer eggs to our children and they enjoy this added addition to the breakfast and the added variety it provides. It also helps with their dexterity and broadening their diets," a representative from one of the partner schools said.

As Noble Foods recognises, a good breakfast is vital for giving children the energy and concentration they need during their school day to help improve their overall education. While eggs provide an excellent source of quality protein and nutrients at an affordable cost and low-carbon impact.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Noble Foods to work towards our mission of no child too hungry to learn," said Alice Chamberlain, director of fundraising and development at Magic Breakfast. "The egg trial has got off to a fantastic start and is ensuring a nutritious start for children and young people, helping to unlock their learning. We can’t wait to see what’s to come next for our fantastic partnership."
