Philippine poultry forecast remains unchanged
Pork production continues to expandThe US Foreign Agricultural Services post in Manila continues to foresee an expansion of the animal husbandry industry in Philippines in 2023, according to a recent USDA GAIN report.
While its forecast for poultry is unchanged from the USDA Official, it has lowered pork production to 925,000 MT in response to the continued spread of African swine fever into new provinces within the Central and Western Visayas regions.
Post also lowered pork imports after considering significantly lower trade to-date, following abnormally high carry-over stocks from late 2022.
