Brazil and Israel concluded negotiations for the opening of the Israeli market to chicken meat from Brazil yesterday, according to a government-issued press release

Meetings with local health authorities were held this week at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in Israel this week. Industry representatives visited production sites to collect information about the "kosher" production process to which companies wishing to export to Israel must adhere.

It should be noted that the slaughter and processing "kosher" do not affect the safety of the products or the compliance with animal welfare precepts.

Brazil thus becomes the first country in the world to export chicken meat to the Israeli market, which attests to the high level of credibility and confidence of the Brazilian agricultural defense system. Israel is one of the world's largest "per capita" consumers of chicken meat and has a great demand for higher value-added cuts, such as breast and "shawarma".

The opening of the Israeli market is the result of close coordination between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), in partnership with the national private sector.
