U.S. poultry meat and poultry meat products and/or live poultry exported from a facility in the areas or derived from birds processed or slaughtered in areas where HPAI has been notified are subject to restrictions for importation into the People’s Republic of China, according to a recent US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Global Agricultural Information Network (GAIN) report.

The General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China(GACC) Department of Animal and Plant Quarantine (DAPQ) informed the US Embassy in Beijing, China that it was lifting HPAI restrictions regulating poultry and related product trade on seven US states, including: Kentucky, Oklahoma, Delaware, North Carolina, Maine, Maryland, and Texas.

There are still 31 US states that are under HPAI-related restriction. The USDA FSIS Export Library for China was updated on November 13, 2023, to reflect this change. In addition, on November 13, 2023, USDA’s APHIS Veterinary Services began updating some of its guidance for export to the PRC.
