Noble Foods, a family-owned business and the UK's leading egg producer, has announced a significant upgrade to its dedicated logistics business, with a brand-new HGV fleet aimed at improving efficiency and reliability, according to a recent press release

Noble Logistics handles over 34 million eggs each week, with a team of 160 professional drivers across 90 individual routes per day. This impressive network of collections and deliveries, spanning from Caithness down to south Devon, helps to keep a steady supply of eggs into supermarkets, convenience stores, wholesalers, and caterers.

In line with the company's commitment to staying at the forefront of industry standards, Noble Logistics regularly reviews its HGV fleet to ensure optimal performance. This review process includes assessing factors such as vehicle condition, mileage, service network reliability, and fuel efficiency.

After thorough evaluations and trials involving several vehicle manufacturers, Noble Logistics has selected Renault for its logistics division. The decision to transition to Renault vehicles was based on their exceptional fuel efficiency, outperforming other options in trials. These Renault vehicles have already been successfully introduced at the Thornton site and are now being integrated into fleets at North Scarle and Cannock.

Initial results have been promising, with the new Renault vehicles delivering a significant improvement in fuel economy. Noble Logistics has already observed a 1 mpg improvement compared to the previous fleet, with expectations to achieve a 1.5 mpg enhancement with continued support from its drivers.

The rollout of these new vehicles is set to be completed by September of this year, with an additional 20 trucks scheduled for delivery.

his multi-million pound expansion will bring Noble Logistics' fleet total to 58 new vehicles, further strengthening its capabilities and commitment to efficiency.

"This upgrade underscores our dedication to providing reliable and efficient transportation solutions", said Nick Williams, Transport Manager at Noble Logistics.

"Ours is 365-day operation and we’re always conscious of the areas we can make improvements in – both large and small scale," Williams added. "With the introduction of these new Renault vehicles, we feel proud of our ongoing efforts to optimise our operations and deliver enhanced value to our network."
