Brazil chicken exports grow 23.2% in November
Eight of 10 main destinations saw significant growth

By: In a recent market report, the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) said that chicken meat exports totalled 465.1 thousand tons in November, a figure that exceeds by 23.2% the balance recorded in the same period of the previous year, with 377.4 thousand tons.
In terms of revenue, the increase is even more significant, reaching 32.1%, with US$893.4 million recorded in the eleventh month of this year, compared to US$676.1 million in the same period in 2023.
Between January and November, chicken meat exports accumulated an increase of 3.7%. In total, 4.845 million tons were exported in the first eleven months of 2024, compared to 4.671 million tons in the same period of 2023.
In the same comparative period, US$ 9.071 billion were obtained this year, a balance that exceeds by 1% the total accumulated between January and November 2023, with US$ 8.977 billion.
Leading among the main destinations, China imported 46.3 thousand tons in November this year, a balance 17% higher than that obtained in the same period last year. Next are Japan, with 34.8 thousand tons (+7.3%), the United Arab Emirates, with 34.2 thousand tons (+6.4%), Mexico, with 33.7 thousand tons (+99.8%), Saudi Arabia, with 29.8 thousand tons (-6.3%), South Africa, with 26.1 thousand tons (+12.5%) and the European Union, with 23 thousand tons (+62.8%).
“There was significant growth in exports in eight of the 10 main destinations for Brazilian chicken meat exports in November, a month that was marked by a strong comparative increase, also considering the fact that November 2023 recorded the lowest monthly performance of that year," said Ricardo Santin, ABPA president. "Meat exports have accumulated consecutive increases in the last three months and should confirm the sector's positive forecasts for 2024."
Paraná remains Brazil's main exporter of chicken meat, with 182.1 thousand tons shipped in November (+26%), followed by Santa Catarina, with 105.2 thousand tons (+15.2%), Rio Grande do Sul, with 65.1 thousand tons (+16.5%), São Paulo, with 27.5 thousand tons (+20.9%) and Goiás, with 18.2 thousand tons (+4.6%).
