Cargill opens new retail feed facility in Washington
New Granger plant adds jobs and boosts feed productionCargill has opened a new retail feed facility in Granger, Washington, expanding its operations in the Pacific Northwest amid rising demand for livestock and backyard animal feed, according to a company-issued press release.
The plant has the capacity to produce and package up to 120,000 tons of feed per year and will create 21 jobs locally. It will operate alongside Cargill’s existing bulk dairy feed mill on the same site.
Equipped with automation and digital safety systems, the new facility is designed to improve production efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Cargill estimates the site will eliminate roughly 2 million truck miles and 5,000 tons of CO₂ annually.
The operation will support a variety of feed formats—meals, pellets, grains, and blended products—for species including poultry, equine, sheep, rabbits, and wildlife.
Cargill says the facility will help meet increased demand in the western US, while also expanding supply of its branded feed products across the region.
