Saudi-based Tanmiah Food Company has strengthened its partnership with McDonald’s Saudi Arabia to supply locally sourced poultry to the fast-food chain, marking a key development in the Kingdom’s push for food self-sufficiency, according to a recent press release

The collaboration enables McDonald’s to meet growing demand for premium, locally raised chicken while supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 targets for local content and agricultural development.

Tanmiah is currently the only poultry producer in the region recognised for consistently raising larger birds suitable for deboning and further processing, despite the country’s hot and challenging farming conditions. The company credits advanced environmental controls and strict animal health protocols for achieving high food safety and quality standards.

"This collaboration is more than a supply agreement; it's a step forward for food security, innovation, and sustainability practices in the Kingdom," said Zulfiqar Hamadani, CEO of Tanmiah. "We are proud to play a pivotal role in building a resilient, world-class halal protein ecosystem."

He noted that the company is exploring expansion plans to support growth driven by the McDonald’s partnership.

Prince Majed Fahed Al Saud, co-CEO of McDonald’s Saudi Arabia, said the partnership underscores the company’s commitment to advancing local agriculture and supporting the national economy.

Both companies thanked the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture for its ongoing support.
