Wayne-Sanderson Farms has acquired Georgia-based Harrison Poultry, expanding its operations with the immediate transfer of all Harrison assets, according to a company-issued press release. The deal includes live production, hatchery, feed mill, manufacturing, and transportation facilities in Bethlehem and Crawfordville.

Integrated operations begin immediately, with minimal changes expected to day-to-day business.

“We are proud to welcome the Harrison Poultry team into the Wayne-Sanderson Farms family,” said Kevin McDaniel, president and CEO of Wayne-Sanderson Farms. “We are well matched... We expect the transition to be practically seamless.”

The acquisition is part of Wayne-Sanderson’s broader growth strategy. The companies share similar values and product lines, including Harrison’s halal-certified “Golden Goodness” range.

Harrison Poultry was founded in 1958 by R. Harold Harrison, a pioneer of integrated poultry management. His family has since invested heavily in rural Georgia through the company’s continued growth.

Jim Skidmore, president and CEO of Harrison Poultry, said the deal was made with careful consideration for staff, producers and customers. “With Wayne-Sanderson Farms, we found the right partner to build on the legacy that Mr. Harrison left.”
