Brazilian chicken meat exports rose 3.9% in August to 394,600 tonnes, compared with 379,800 tonnes a year earlier, the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) said in a recent market report

Revenue for the month fell 11.9% to $699.4 million (US$699.4 million), down from $793.6 million (US$793.6 million) in August 2024.

From January to August, exports totalled 3.394 million tonnes, down 1.1% from 3.432 million tonnes in the same period last year. Revenue for the first eight months reached $6.308 billion (US$6.308 billion), a marginal 0.2% decrease from $6.319 billion (US$6.319 billion) in 2024.

“August’s performance maintained the stability of shipments seen since Brazil regained its avian influenza-free status, which should change positively with the recent resumption of imports by Chile and the official reopening of the European Union,” said ABPA president Ricardo Santin.

Mexico became Brazil’s top buyer for the first time, with shipments reaching 37,500 tonnes in August, up 873.3% from a year earlier.
