Competitive pricing supports global sales
Brazil exported more than 459 thousand tons of chicken meat in January, the best result for the month since Secex records began in 1997, according to a recent market report from Cepea.
The volume was up 3.6% from January 2025 but down 10% from December 2025, when exports exceeded 510 thousand tons.
In 2025, Brazil exported chicken at an average price of USD 1.79 per kilogram, one of the lowest among major global suppliers, according to United Nations data. China and the United States recorded average prices of USD 1.55 and USD 1.59 per kilogram, respectively.
Brazil exported 5 million tons of chicken in 2025, compared with 4.1 million tons exported by the US and China combined, according to USDA data.
Cepea said 67% of Brazil’s chicken production was allocated to the domestic market last year, compared with 86% in the US and 95% in China.
